reusable bag contestStudents in the Creative Design class recently competed in the Cambridge Reusable Bag logo design contest sponsored by the City of Cambridge Department of Public Works led by Rebecca Fuentes and Mike Orr. The contest guidelines included the reusable bag design for geared towards the entire Cambridge community. The goal of the bag design is to publicize the upcoming mandatory bag charge effective on March 31st, 2016 in the City of Cambridge. As of April there will be no more single use plastic bags used in any store in Cambridge. The judging was based on originality and adherence to contest guidelines which included designing a simple graphic that is fresh, hip and stylish. The winning reusable bag will be printed on 3300 bags and given to those in need around Cambridge.

The reusable bag logos winners are:
–Sasa Strejcek, Sophomore, First Place ($100 cash prize awarded)
–Esmeralda Asprilla, Senior, Second Place ($50 cash prize awarded)
–Jaryd Wallace, Junior, Third Place ($25 cash prize awarded)
–Tyrell Moore, Junior, Fourth Place ($25 cash prize awarded)
