RSTA Creative Design Students Win 2023 Scholastic Art Awards

Students in RSTA's Creative Design class earned individual winning keys that include one Senior Portfolio Award. Established in 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards are the longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens in the U.S. The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA), in partnership with the Boston Globe is pleased to be among the more than 100 Regional Affiliates for the Awards in the United States. Our region, the nation's largest, serves the entire state of Massachusetts. Open to students from grades 7–12, The Scholastic Art Awards are the nation's longest-running, largest, most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers in the visual and literary arts. The Awards identify students with exceptional artistic and literary talent. Work is judged on originality, technical skill, and emergence of a personal voice or vision. All work is judged blindly, without knowledge of the student's gender, age or school.
This year three Creative Design students won eight Scholastic Art Awards. Senior Evan Garvey won Gold Key for his Portfolio and five individual Silver Keys. Senior Maeghan Fischer earned honorable mention awards for two submissions. Senior Charlotte Joly earned honorable mention award for one submission.
National awards opportunity for GOLD KEY winner: Evan Garvey's Gold Key Portfolio work is currently being reviewed at the national level by panels of creative professionals. National Medalists selected by these panelists will be announced on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
